Seems a little silly to put it away in early October, as you're probably going to have multiple days in the 70s before the end of October, and pretty nice but cooler weather in November.....you could keep it on the road til the first snow is forecast at least.
I don't put mine away per se, but will only drive in the winter when the roads are bone dry so salt spray isn't an issue....I've always thought its better for the car to be driven instead of being stored for extended periods. It's already dropped into the low 30s a few times in Maine, and I have no plans to curtail my Camaro enjoyment until the weather actually precludes it.

What's the point of putting it away the second week in October and waiting till May to take it out? There probably won't be any snow on the ground for at least another month and a half or so, and the temps will stay about 50 for few more weeks if not a month+.
Also, it gets to be in the 50s as early as April, so why wait till May? But hey, if you enjoy paying for something while it sits doing nothing then go for it. |

What is worse for the finish, the salt or that goopy brine spray they use here in ohio to "pre-treat" the roads before a forcasted snow?

I refuse to put mine to sleep until the very last second. As my car has been in the shop for 40 days so far and I am getting it back tomorrow mechanically sound but still having body damage, the new shop has agreed to delay the work until the weather changes to give me a little time to enjoy the car. I am upset the original shop had the car for 40 days and couldn't get it fixed but hopefully this new plan gives me a little time to enjoy the car.
