Why doesn't Camaro SS get max HP?
I've seen the dynos posted of the Camaro's recorded HP. Some are fairly far off from the max HP. Why is that?

You may be looking at hp on the flywheel versus rwhp (rear wheel horse power). Flywheel hp is in the shop without any load. There are tons of dyno numbers on this forum for all kinds of setups.

Most stock LS3's will dyno 360-380 at the tires. With LT headers & tune mine made 405 on a mustang dyno.

Yeah, it's because of powertrain loss. A bone stock L99 from the factory will get about 320rwhp compared to the 400 advertised.

Even a low of 320 HP is more than the Gen 4's crank HP

The dragstrip tells the whole story on how much power your making.
Just look at the fast list there is less than 2 tenths and just over 1mph in the difference between the fastest stock M6 and A6 Mine would have qualified for the top 10 in A6 had I posted the slip.

2002 Camaro SS curb weight 3,410 pounds
2010 Camaro SS curb weight 3,859 pounds 2015 Camaro SS curb weight 3,935 pounds That extra hp is to push these pigs down the road and they only got heavier as the years went on.

As a comparison my 1994 TA went 14.01 at 101 stone stock My Heavy Chevy SS went 13.08 and I theoretically could have run a 12 that day. I was out on my buddies 1 SS about 2 car lengths and had my best 60" and 330' when just before the 1/8th I hit the rev limiter. I had accidentally hit the paddle shift while steering around the water box. My friend ran a 13.12 which was his best all day and I was about 1.5 to 2/10's quicker on every pass (4 passes) There are a couple of tracks St Thomas and Grand Bend where all of my cars have run quicker but I never ran the SS at them
