The RS option is extra on both the SS and the LT.

RS package does cost quite a bit less on the SS though...

If possible, drive each for 2 or 3 days ..... not just a dealer test. My wife wanted just the V6. Drove one for a few days.....had an opportunity to drive the SS (V8) for a weekend ...... and she insisted on a V8 from that point on.
I found a difference in the ride, handling, cornering AND braking....all in addition to the extra ponies in the stable. We obviously felt it was worth the extra $$$. It's better to have it & not need it......then to need it & not have it.

Having owned both IMO the driving experience is quite different between the two. Both great but different. The 2ss seems to hug the road better you really feel the corners and the brembos really make a big difference when you really need that braking power. I would describe the 2lt ride as smooth great for long drives and cruising. As far as power goes I thought the v6 was plenty enough power. But one thing I love about the v8 is the sound when you get on it.
