Maybe a carbon fiber hood? Normally, you could drop weight by replacing the stock wheels, but with the 1LE, the stock wheels are already pretty light.

The hood is the last place to look. It is light weight aluminum.

Wet ready to race, complete with cage, 325/30/19s, big brakes and 5 gallon dry-sump tank , 3,400 pounds.

plenty on threads on weight reduction. However, they all seem to say the same thing. Costs some serious $$$ and convenience. I'm doing the driver weight reduction right now lol

It's mostly all in oz's.

The biggest area that I've seen is the exhaust. Otherwise you are mostly left with gutting the car (ie: carpet, door panels, rear seat, trim panels, etc.). Depends on how serious you really are.

Thank you to Justice Pete for the new information about the hood - I was not aware. If there is no weight savings, then are people just replacing the hoods with carbon fiber ones just for looks? I suppose you could remove the wrap from the 1LE hood and save a very few pounds....

Another area to learn more about might be replacing the front seats? I would guess there are aftermarket seats that might weigh less because they are made for track/racing vehicles.

Best regards.
