02 SS 35th Anniversary Ed. question.

Hi guys i am new to the forums. I don't own a Camaro yet, i hope to own and 02 SS 35th Anniversary Ed. Coupe w/T-Tops in the near Future. I just have some questions about the car. If i wanted to get the best handling possible out of the car without completely destroying the comfort level of the ride what would you guys recommend? Should i look into sub-frame connectors as well? I mean what is recommended for upgrades on the car if it is going to be a daily driver but something to have fun with on the weekends and such as well?

I am asking now cause i just want to have an idea of what i will be looking at spending on upgrades when i do get the car.

just replace the shocks/springs with new equipment and replace the bushings in the rest of the susp.

you can get subframe connectors, but the fact that you arent going to be draggin it all the time wouldnt necessitate them.

I agree with Camarospike23 said just a few things done to it and u will have a better daily driver.

I agree, mostly, with the previous comments, with the exception of the subframe connectors.

subframe connectors actually add alot of structural strength to the car and will help it last longer... our cars are very prone to body flex because of their unibody design with front and rear subframes that are not connected by anything other than the unibody... by adding the SFCs, you add a level of strength to the overall chassis that stops this body flex and, therefore, stop the body from bending and warping during acceleration, cornering and driving over uneven road surfaces... if you plan on driving the car at all, the best thing to do is to add some SFCs and a strut tower brace between under the hood... BMR makes some EXCELLENT SFCs and STBs that come in a wide variety of colors (or they used to) to match your particular application... or, if nothing else, you can have them painted to match your car... we've had that done on my wife's 2001 Z28 with her STB:



I highly recommend other suspension upgrades only when something wears out... the stock f-body had some really good stuff under it, so its really almost pointless to change them out unless you're A) going racing, or B) just looking to modify the car.
