lets talk headers
Im investing in headers and exhaust. I know that SLP makes the best fitting parts for the 4th gen. Is it really worth saving up the 1000+ dollars that slp headers cost or is there another setup thats just as good and cheaper...i.e. pacesetter??? and will bolt up just as easy!

headers
ive got hooker long tubes a hooker offroad y-pipe and slp cat back on my 99 z-28 it sounds and performs awesome. ive had that setup on for about a year and have had no problems and no header leaks. it wasnt real hard to install i did it by myself in about day on jackstands in my garage. i would definitley go long tubes they sound great and make good power. anyway good luck .

for the price, coated pacesetters are the best. after that its a toss up, whatever you can get for cheaper is going to be your best bet. they all do the same thing, tho they will all argue they are better than the competition (which might be true by .000002 hp)
Im running Hooker Super LTs on my car as well, the one thing i liked about them was that i didnt have to disconnect my steering knuckle to install them. the #1 exhaust has a slip fitting and is not attached to the mounting bracket with the rest of the exhaust on that side, so you can install them easier.

you can order with emissions fittings or without

as for the install, they can be a pain in the a$$, but if youve got a weekend and a couple friends and a handful of tools, you can do it. as for an install guide... this is for an LT1, but the same principals apply http://www.zmydust.com/headers/index.htm
