Here's one. It'll make you dizzy trying to watch all the apex cones on each side.

No cones were hit.

Great videos, they've convinced me to find a local autocross near me and go for the first time ever.

Any tips? Assume traction control is on all the time (you only turn this off for a straight line drag?), and you probably don't get higher than 2nd/3rd at most. Any special way of shifting? Novice here, just figuring out how to tune the car most appropriately for any situation - drag/autox

Thanks!

Without getting too much into car setup specifically...the best setup in autocross is seat time

If it's your first time leave traction and stability control on. Once you build some confidence (maybe event 2 or 3) hit the button twice for "competitve mode" (I.E. traction/stability off)...the stock SS is without PTM like the Z28 or ZL1 and is faster without the nannies on. They will shut down any oversteer quickly and you'll upset the car. The car needs to be settled for the best turn-in, braking, and best corner exit possible.

As far as shifting it depends on the course. Best advice would be to identify points where you could shift cleanly without "upsetting" the car AKA the start or a "straight-ish" section. Most advocate grabbing second immediately after the launch and leave it there, it usually keeps us in the thick of the torque curve. Larger courses will require third. Sometimes I find my fastest times are when I stay in first for a while before grabbing second...it depends on how well you hook up/the opportunities to shift.

Biggest outside advice it to take it slow. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Walk the course ahead of time and absorb as much as you can from experienced guys at the event. Look ahead not at what's immediately in front of you but further out. If your eyes are focused just off your bumper, what you're looking at is effectively already happening and any corrections will mess up the next turn.

Once you get your bearings you can start diving into things like tire pressures and alignment. But once again seat time is king. Good luck!

Digging this up again...

Nice little cob web shaker to start the season! Course was really bumpy, basically a slip and slide.
