Selling to salvage yard?

I have a 92 Ford Taurus that was supose to get repossessed about 10 years ago, they never came and got it.(Owed like a grand on it(was for my ex-wifes daughter) but the transmission went out on it so she quit paying for it), and I the time I couldnt. Anyways I dont have a title and sold it to a junk yard, told them I had no title, today they called about the title, so i am taking it they didint hear me well.

My question is since they just gonna scrap it anyways, do you think they will want their money back. Or do they even need a title for this. Never done this before and am curious.

Any feed back would be nice.

Its a done deal, id just tell em I told you it had no title and leave it at that.

They just don't wanna hafta cut it up to scrap it.

To scrap a car with no title it has to be cut in 2-3 pieces.
They can't just crush it flat n send it off on a flat bed.

Its on who ever paid you n took it in, aka the tow truck driver.

It only matters if the car is stolen, but since they never picked it up you could easily claim ownership for 10 years of back storage fee's that are worth more then the car. Most yards charge ya like $50-$75 a day when you get towed.

At just $5 a day for 10 years they owe you $18,250 in back storage fee's, more the its worth, you own it legaly, papers or not.

Your off the hook in any case, id tell em to sit n spin in a nice way.

Im sure the problem is the 'someone' who sits in the office doing paper work trying to do it 'right' but the guys who buy the junk know its got more then they paid n parts, and then when it time to scrap it, it just need chopped up.

I know that form yards here in Ohio has to be cut in half 1-2 times to need no title to scrap it. Once chopped up its just scrap steel and not a car.

Course you should of parted it out, them Ford Taurus fans are highly sought after, they can keep even a well warmed over BB cool. They used a better fan on 'them' then you can buy for under $200. Draws like 80 amps on start up and uses a constant 30+ its a fricking air hogg. Id like to have one myself.

Thanks for all your input. I have not heard anything else out the tow driver...
