Question on lowering the diff to replace bushings

I'm dropping the rear end housing to replace the Diff bushings and have a question on drive shaft removal. I've got the three 18mm bolts off and there is a pilot shaft inside the drive shaft. The directions say to use a pry bar and move the drive shaft forward and lower it. I've pryed on it a bit and it seems to bottom out just as it's about to come off the pilot shaft. I don't want to pry too hard and break something? Do I just put a little more into the pry bar and get it off the pilot shaft?

Thanks

If you remove the carrier bearing mount bolts it will give you a little extra room to allow you to get the clearance you need to slide the driveshaft past the pilot shaft.

Are the bolts your talking about the ones that hold the flex joint to the drive shaft?

I figured out the carrier bearing and got the drive shaft out.

Thanks
