MBRP Exhaust Installed on my 2LT/RS

Just got this installed yesterday. I will post some more videos as soon as I can.

For those of you considering getting this exhaust let me share some of my thoughts with you. First off the body shop that installed this exhaust absolutely hated it. They said the entire system needs to be shortened by about an inch and that they didn't make the tips properly so they actually had to resize them at the shop to make it so they wouldn't stick out like 3-4 inches behind the car. With that said I will say that the exhaust does sound very nice and is one of the only ones I have heard where I actually like how it sounds at idle. It does make the cabin much louder, so if you are concerned about a quiet cabin or hearing "drone" you may way to avoid this exhaust. The sound when you step on it is fantastic, i'll try to get a take off video up today. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Edit: Audio is messed up on the youtube upload. Redoing it now
Edit 2: Ok here is a really crappy video quality version. I am trying to get the better one up but YouTube is giving me problems. It does not seem to like the audio for whatever reason.

Edit 3: More videos for your viewing pleasure. Pictures to come

That youtube link has no sound except for an insanely loud static.

It has a much deeper growl in person then on the videos, especially from inside the cabin. It sounds mean when you step on it while you're driving

Edit: Oh and Audrey...my car is now officially faster than yours :-p

Thanks for the info.......

If your guy is correct MBRP has made a LARGE mistake.
I don't think the tips should stick out 3-4 inches.
From the top of tips by the top part of the black plastic (where the top of the tip comes to the top of the 5" opening in the plastic, Not the farthest rear part of the plastic) ..MOST mods. are even or out maybe 1/4 to 1/2" at the most........

Where did he cut the pipes ? How much did he cut off ?

A close up of your tips would be helpful.
From the little I can see, they seam to stick out a little too far.
A take off video would be great.........

Welcome to the forum...........
Thanks for the Photos.......
Very nice Photos, Looks GREAT...Except the tips stick out too far. IMO

My STOCK tips are in App.2'' from where you measured and yours. And yours are out app. 3/8" on rt.one & app. 7/8" on left one
So, yours are out app. 2 3/8' to 2 7/8" more than the stock ones....

That said the stock ones are IN too far. IMO ....

Most Exhaust mods. are out app. 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" FROM STOCK ones. (from the point where YOU measured)

BOTTOM LINE ...MBRP tips stick out app...1" more than the other exhaust mods. Too far ...IMO...........Some may like them out that extra inch.

When I spoke about measurements In my other post I did NOT measure from where you did. (But that does not matter.) As long we measure STOCK to MOD.in the SAME PLACE. Which I just did to meet you measuring point.

I guess it's all a matter of preference. I like my tips sticking out like that, they look great from the sides as well. If someone wanted them closer to the rear that would be a simple fix. I prefer a little long where I can adjust the length, too short and I wouldn't be able to adjust.

I'll post some video of take-offs and inside cabin audio as well.
