MyLink faceplate poor fit

I have a 2011 Camaro and just did the MyLink Nav upgrade. Upon installing the faceplate, I notice I can't get the screen to lock tightly in place and have a gap around mostly the top between the radio and the dash. The fit on the passenger side is worse. Is there something I'm not doing correctly?

So I have not installed this unit, but I just did an aftermarket radio install using the pac kit. I found that getting everything to fit behind the radio was a challenge. Had I known that the space was so limited, I would have installed a multimedia radio (much more shallow than a regular double din with a CD drive). Do you think you could get some of the wiring back tighter?

Did you trim the top 2 guides/supports on top of the mylink that were used by the old style radio?

Also you should have trimmed the rear area also (see where I have blue tape).

Had to trim the gauges/pod area to fit correctly...

Did you buy Gen5Diy’s kit?

I have the upper supports and the receiver fits fine. I did trim the back too. Does the bottom go in first (by the 2 bolts) and then swings up to snap in?

So spoke with Gen5DIY and had to remove my center console (again) for the faceplate to fit well. Really like this upgrade!

Looks like you fixed it but I had the same issue when I did the install. Eventually I took a break and came back and it popped in.

He pieced it together and did a good job of it, and we are here to help if we can.
