Replacing CV boot

Has anyone ever replaced a CV boot on a SS? I've searched for days without any real results on how to do it. I can't figure out how to separate the joint from the shaft. There's no clips or retaining rings visible from just removing the boot.

I know from searching that replacing the axle seems like the most recommended option, but I already have a replacement boot and it was a small hole that had barely started leaking in the old one.

Thank you for any help.

On the SS axles, start at the outer CV.
Cut the boot clamps off, push the boot inward.
Strike the CV with a hammer/block of wood. That outer CV is held on by a snap ring at the end of the axle, hitting it will knock it off the end and it will go off over the snap ring.

Once that outer CV is off, you remove that snap ring at the end of the axle, then slide off the outer CV boot.

Then you can cut the clamps on the inner boot and slide that off.

Ahh I was trying to start from the inner joint since that's the boot needing replacing. Thanks!
