Also, I have looked at the Circle D and Yank, but I have no first hand knowledge or stories on the quality of these two. Any input would be great.
i understand the performance advantage of a stall but why spend the money if you don't compete/race?

From what I have read and have been told is that the driveability of the cam with the stock converter isn't great. As in when I am at a stop sign or light the car is going to want to push forward unless I am practically standing on the breaks. If I get a looser stall converter, it will fix this issue. The other thing is while at idle the cam will make the engine surge and with the stock converter the rpms wouldn't be high enough and could make the engine stall where as I get a aftermarket converter it will fix the issue. Its one of those things where I am being told to get one, but when I ask questions everyone relates it to racing which is not the direction I am going. However, it sounds like it is something I should get.

Yes the lobier HP cam will give a push if RPM are at or close to converter rating. A 3200 - 3600 sounds excessive for street use. A good compromise would be a 2800 - 3000 by the sound of what you want but I have not seen your Horsepower/Torque specs. What is your idel RPM in neutral? Most stock are 800 - 1000. Just remember the higher the stall the harder on transmission parts, U Joints, and Differential parts. Yes that cam may be made for a 3200 - 3600 stall converter but that is to optimize the performance you are talking you want a street car.

Ok, that makes sense. My 69 needs a stall. The 327 has NO low end torque. It can barely chirp the tires. Kind of embarrassing when leaving the car shows cause the car sounds really tough.

Welcome ZEELWN. I grew up in Burlington and spend many weekends in Winfield, not to far from Mt. Pleasant. Glad to see we are getting some more people from my neck of the woods.

I wasn't aware that a higher stall converter was harder on your transmission. Is that from launching at a higher rpm range when at the track? As far as the type of the stall I was thinking the same thing. Lethal Racing said they install 3200, but I have read where others say don't do anything less than 3600. I am leaning more towards the 3200 but need to do some more reading and questioning. Any suggestions between brand such as Yank or Circle D?

Time to order Valley Cover and LS3 Front Timing Cover.

Best example I can give is to low of converter and the car sits at the light acting like it is wanting to lanch as the cam surges too high and the car sit there till high enough RPM is reached to create enough fluid flow to engage the clutches.
As for chirping the tires yes a higher stall will give you more RPM getting you more in your power band on the start. A 69 is an easy converter swap compared to current cars.

Hey guys, after months of Jason telling me to join I finally made an account. My name is Brady and I live in northeast Iowa and work with Jason, I drive a blacked out 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS L99. I've got long tubes w/off roads, Borla cat-back, K/N intake, Jannetty Racing tune and some minor exterior, interior mods. I went with jason in october to the track and managed a 13.1 @108 on stock tread with a 2.1 60'. Anyways, I hope to see you guys around this summer and cannot wait for this snow to leave so I can finally get her back out and cruising again.

Here are a couple photos of the car. I don't have many with the new wheels and tint, also the BMR split drop springs are still in their box for now
