samsung rant

So i have become a samsung fan over the past couple years. TVs, washer/ dryer, phones, and tablets are all samsung around the house. In the last 2 years i purchased 4 tablets; tab2 7", tab2 10", tab3 10", and tab4 10". The tab2 10" took a crap after 13 months, 12 month warranty of course! It was in an otterbox from day 1 and this tab never left the house. I took it to a couple repair shops who all told me the same thing, board problem with that model and will cost half the price of a new tab. So i contact samsung and they tell me they are not aware of a board issue and to send it in. Yesterday they called to let me know the BOARD needs to be replaced for $150. Called them some lying POS and to shove the tab up their a$$ because i am swapping to apple. I know any other company would have done the same thing but i am pissed because they lied. There is an issue with this model and they should stand behind their products.

What do you mean by "take a crap"? What's it's not doing? Turning on? Charging?

Samsung's mobile devices tend to have board problems sad to say. Their products are great, but even my S3 has some board issues. They usually stand behind their products even if it is just slightly out of warranty. Strange.

Any company will do the same thing. My 2011 MacBook Pro 15inch has a known problem with the discrete graphics card and hundreds of these models have died on customers with apple not even acknowledging that the problem exists. And these are not customers that paid a couple hundred dollars for a device but a couple thousand which if you ask me should influence Apple's decision. The cost to repair it if it dies on me will be more than 700 dollars so I am hoping mine doesn't suffer the safe fate as some people I know.

Same company - different appliance: We have a Samsung 46" DLP television. The unreliable main boards were a "known" issue that Samsung denied knowing about for a LONG time. Dead pixels and other issues. After a LOT of bad press and online social pressure they admitted there was an issue and they DID extend the warranty. I got my TV back from warranty service with a better picture and it has been flawless ever since. We have owned it about 8 years and never even needed to buy a new bulb for it.

Find an internet discussion board where people rant about Samsung tablets and see what you can find out. It might be worth complaining about it there. JMO.

-Mark.

Was it on or charging before this happened?

It sounds like you need a flash.

What's the issue specifically? Won't come on or does it go to the boot screen?
