'10 SS VS '11 5.0

Thinking of hitting the track in the spring with my brother.

2011 5.0 auto mods: CAI, Ported TB, intake manifold, tune.

2010 SS manual mods: CAI, Ported TB, LT Headers, tune.

Will I be able to take him? Or atleast close? If not, what do I need?

Haha I had a feeling that'd be the case. It feels like I've got WAY more low end power though. Atleast that's what the butt dyno tells me. Was hoping that'd even things up a bit. Weight isn't helping either though. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that he's not gonna blow me out of the water! Thanks for the reply.

A cam is in the plans. May have to come a little sooner than I thought though. I'll probably run him with the current mods just to see how it does. Thanks for the reply.

Don't be surprised if you take him. They aren't monsters you know. But you can always do gears for insurance though.

Round here the 5.0s with those mods are running high 11s or low 12s trapping 115-120 in the 1/4 mile.

You got him.

Bolt-on 5.0's are running very high 12's low 13's on a good day, in negative DA with jesus pushing it through an Auto.

Similarly modded 6 Speed manuals are running mid-high 13's in negative DA, on a downward track with John Force driving and 1000LBS of weight reduction with a 100 MPH blowing them down the track.

Then certain members of C5 woke up from that dream and it turned out to be a nightmare called "Reality"

First Monday of 2015 I'm back at work, had to let it out, hahaha.

OP - I think you can take him, but, you'll need to put some effort into driving. He can just mash the gas and go and from a stop he may get you, and will most likely stick with you during a roll. At the track, I'd say he will win.

High 12s low 13s is what they run stock boss. My best friend owns one and let me run it bone stock and managed a 12.9. My other friend ran a 12.6 stock with just a catback. Ive seen tune only run 12.2s. Atleast down here in texas. My camaro runs mid 12s but i have headers and a tune. The 5.0 op is racing probably has the boss 302 manifold (most common manifold they use on 5ohs) so it gives him more horsepower but loses a little torque.
