Worth the Upgrade from the Gen5?

Hi I have a gen 5 2SS/RS with full bolt ons with a manual transmission...For those who have upgraded to the gen 6 from a gen 5 was it worth the upgrade? I would have to put about 15k into it to trade

If you can handle the sting it is definitely a good choice. I loved my 15 lt rs and it took me 8 months to be persuaded into giving it a go (took my gen5 in for an oil change). I just wasn’t into it... until I drove it. Wow! My Gen5 felt heavy in comparison. Needless to say, I’m in love with gen6. I’m not interested whatsoever in the new refresh. I’m truly one happy camper. But that’s just my 2 cents.

It's a superior car in every way other than usable space. If you can handle the smaller quarters, it's a no-brainer.

Depends on what you mean by "worth it"

Financially, not so much if your really wanting to be smart with money.
Your 5th Gen will get you around and serve your "needs" just as well.
But then so will any new econo box type cars.

But we traded a 5th Gen 2SS in for our current 6th Gen 2SS.
It was worth every penny to me!

Yes, definitely worth it. I also went from Gen 5 to 6. My Gen 5 was an SS, I went to a 2LT V6. The car is lighter, feels smaller and visibility is better. You can really feel the weight difference.

100% worth it. My stock 6th gen is faster than my 5th gen vert that was headers/CAI/tuned.

Generally, this is spot on!
But OP has long list of mods on his gen5, so he likes cars.
Sounds like he wants to move into a gen6 2SS, but does not state what year and the miles.
So can't judge on the $15k without more info.
But based on his current mods, think he will be happier in a gen6, which he will undoubtedly mod at some point!

I still have my 14 1LE, but I've driven a few 6th gens, including an SS 1LE and a 1SS with the auto. They're great cars, but they are definitely smaller inside the cabin and trunk. I also just paid my car off, so it would be a big change financially for me to get one. I also just didn't feel like I could live with it as a daily driver with the reduction in room. Just things to consider. So yes, like all the 6th gen owners say, it's a better performing car in every way, but not necessarily a better car all around.

Upgraded to a Gen6 this spring, only negative I've found is the rear seat room or lack of room compared to the Gen5.

A friend of mine had a really nice 2011 2SS... until he drove my 1LE. Said my car ruined his car for him. He ended up in a 2017 50th 2SS shortly afterwards.

Just went from a 2010 2SS to a new 2018 1SS 1LE and it is a massive difference. I really liked driving my 5th gen but I absolutely LOVE my 6th gen 1LE. One thing to keep in mind is space. The back seat in the 5th gen is at least somewhat functional and the trunk was a bit bigger too. The back seat in this car is kids only and I'd still have to move my seat forward. I don't really need the back seat so no biggie for me.
