Do our Camaros come pre-waxed/sealed?

Hey all,

My new 2LT is just 2 days old, and we've had a good rain here and I've noticed the water is beading very nicely on the paint.

Do new cars come already waxed or sealed? I specifically asked the dealership not to wash the car before I picked it up, but do they get any kind of treatment before they leave the factory or when they arrive at a dealership?

Cheers!

Nick

I'm not sure, got it 3 weeks ago, but the rain gave my car bad water spots. Want To wash but it may rain again. Life could be cruel sometimes.

Not from factory. Standard dealer prep is to just wash but some dealers will wax or seal but you would usually see a cost.

Unless you bought it off the lot, then depending on how long it sat, might have been spruced up.

New fresh paint will bead up water pretty good as the surface is still nice and smooth and naturally sealed.

Ah, good point.

So wash and wax tomorrow as scheduled!

Mine is a month old and wasn't waxed.
They washed it, detailed it and sent it on its way.
It looked flawless when I got it. A week later I washed it by hand and notice some imperfections in the paint. So sad to see this when you wash the car yourself especially when I paid $40k for the car.
Anyway, throw some wax on and you will see and feel the difference.

Yeah, plan on doing that. I have an Adam's and Meguiar's clay bar.

These cars leave the plant with the clearcoat being the only thing protecting the paint.
