ALLY Financial is TERRIBLE!

Take it from someone that has experienced their evilness firsthand: DO NOT USE THEM!

I would explain in great detail but I don't wish to air my laundry, dirty or otherwise. They do not care at all about any person on the other end of one of their loans!

Terrible, terrible company!!

Possibly this guys last post here for a quite a while. Take care all!

I called them yesterday to get a pay off on our leased v-6 and they wouldn't give it to me. Said I had to have a dealer call them. Right, like a trust a dealer to give me the right pay off. Been there done that.
Traded in my mustang on my last Z/28 at Petaluma Chevrolet. They negotiated a pay off lower(without my knowledge) than what was owed and VW credit ding my credit report as if it was a repo.

I never had an issue with Ally. They seem to be one of the better financing companies to deal with.

When the goverment shutdown scare was going on I called them and said I'm a wounded vet and I only get my VA and if the goverment shut down happened I may not get my check to pay my payment and they was very helpful and polite and said if that happened they would help me work through it

Ally = old GMAC financing.

Their practices since being bailed by the Gov't have been pretty much terrible.

That's why I always used my credit union. I could call at any time and get my payoff. I went to trade my 85 Cavalier in on a new car. I checked before I went to look, my payoff was $2,000. When the dealer went to figure my trade they put down I owed $4,000. I told them they were crooks and walked out.

Yeah since that $4000 they said my payoff was was also the trade in value they were offering. My Credit Union has always had a NADA black book we could check out trade in values. And I had checked it and trade in should have been around $5,500 with my model and options. They were quoting a base model Cavalier. Needless to say I have never gone back to that dealer.

lol... They wanted a premium model for a base model price! Good thing you don't go back to them because they'll be trying to get you somewhere else !

all I know is Ally was fine with my 1LT Camaro, had it set up to come right out of my account when ever I decided to make the payment. really miss that with My SS payment, have to mail that thing in. miss just clicking on a few buttons....done!! when I traded it was super easy to pay off the remaining amount, painless

Mail it in? Dannng ! And I thought taking money out one bank and putting it in another just to make a payment was crazy! I would think you could pay it online or from your bank!

Check with your lender and your bank, most can set up either auto withdrawal (lender) or auto payment(your bank).

Ally does suck. I sent them 15 grand to take off principle and they used the 15k to make future payments. Took 3 months to fix.

I never had any issues with them. Although it did take about 2 months to get my title after I paid off my truck. When I called them, they blamed it on the dmv
