After going back and forth on why my car nosed over on th we dyno at 6900 rpm we came to the conclusion that its valve float from the solid intake valves in the 823 heads and not enough valve spring. Currently has btr.660 springs and will definitely be upgraded to pac 1209x over the winter.

Planning on throwing together another motor outside of the car this year and throwing it in over the winter.

Okay so onto the next part. I will be cutting out the rear section of the trans tunnel and raising it a few inches to get back the clearance I need to lower ride height and get the shocks back into the middle of their travel. Also will replace the leaking tailshaft seal on the trans while the driveshaft is out.

Hoping to take it to a buddy's this weekend and set up the 2 step, bump box, make sure it goes straight and stops okay. I was hoping to make it to the track this weekend but the weather and sons baseball schedule just isn't lining up.

Got this car sitting where I want it now. Just need to box in the trans tunnel and that's done.

Going to add permanent ground straps to replace the temporary grounds we installed on the dyno.

Adding a recirculating overflow tank for the radiator and replaced the 16psi cap with a 21lb one.

Hoping Sunday to make it out.

Duuuuuuuude.
This thing is nuts. I love it.

Shame about the valve springs - at least that sounds like an easy enough fix to get it to rev out.

What motor you thinking about building?

Thank you sir! After talking to ljms again he said the only way to get rid of it is valves so unfortunately I'll just keep the limiter down and run 1/8 this year most likely. Hate to blow a perfectly good motor from valve float.

But I've been looking hard at this one... buy once, cry once I suppose lol

Got the trans tunnel all patched. Some other odds and ends taken care of. Gonna load it up and go make some street hits in the morning. Been a long time coming 🤘

Got some street testing in. Shocks need loosened up but it goes straight. Builds a few lbs on the brake. Next up a prepped surface.

Great to see this thing on the street! Question: what does going to a larger psi radiator cap do?

Raises boiling point of the contents. Hopefully preventing it from boiling over once I shut the car off. Also if it does pressurize coolant system via lifting heads it won't puke it into the overflow.

Hoping to avoid going to an electric pump until winter but we will see.

Messed around tonight trying to get it to build boost on the brake. I thought I was having an issue getting it to build boost. Turns out when it would come up on the limiter it would retard timing pulling it off the limiter.

Built 11psi in 3.5 seconds lol. Gonna try sending it the first outing @4400rpm, 6 psi.

Got the car to the track. First pass down the track spun like crazy. Ran a 7.50 @108. Next pass, aired the tires down and turned launch down to 4000. Went 6.82@111. Added a little more boost to the launch, aired the tires down a bit more and removed the boost delay after launch and went 6.47@103, coasted to a 10.72@99. 60' was a less than stellar 1.64

Logs showed the car was breaking up, losing fuel pressure so going to go with a different fuel pump. Make a bar change to raise instant center, and move it brack from 51" to 41." Going to fix the bouncing on the hit as well. Hoping to be able to hit it harder and get into the 1.2 60s
