Speaking of racing in Valdosta...

I'm getting pretty upset about what's going on over there. 2014 awards banquet was supposed to be 1/24. I should have received another 3rd place plaque plus $100 bonus for finishing 3rd in "The Chase" playoffs. They sent out an email on 1/22 saying that due to the outrage in the changes announced for 2015, the banquet was moved to 2/7 and would be at the track and serve as a meeting. That was cancelled too as I found by calling Alan Gravitt, one of my fellow street racers.

The track was bought out by the owners of Orlando Speed World and Lakeland. New website, new logo, new FB page and obviously new management. I was getting nervous because the original schedule called for this year's season to start this month so I decided to dig and see if I could find any news. Turns out, the track isn't even NHRA anymore and has switched to IHRA instead.

I don't know who I should be mad at for not keeping us loyal racers informed, the new owners or the old ones. Also, somebody owes me some money that I'll never see now and a trophy I'll never get.

Doesn't look like I'll be racing this year and I'm pretty upset about it. So how's everyone else doing?

That blows, I would like to vent about the port "workers" on strike and holding up every d@mn ship including the MRR wheels.

Well....it does suck that you won't get your trophy from last year, but that would be thank you to the former owners. Don't hold the new owners responsible for that. I'm sure they are getting overwhelmed with complaints that really are somewhat out of their control.

From what I'm hearing, they really are trying to make the transition as seamless as is humanly possible for this type of change......

Hope you'll still race the series this year...you were getting pretty darn good!!! IHRA is typically what these "smaller" tracks are. NHRA sanctioning is VERY expensive, and you will rarely see any track outside of the ones the big boys race at that are NHRA tracks. A few still exist, but they are rare....you should be able to use your number....they will typically honor it when you register with them.
