American racing headers v6

Does anybody have this kit installed?

http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...s-cav6shwc.htm

Does it cause a cel?

Yep, that's the kit myself, Blade, ROD1 and devildoc all run. ( I think devildoc did ARHs)

In any case, they are indeed a quality product, IMHO, well worth the money.

Yes, it will cause a cel, as most, if not all, LTs will. You will either have to live with it, or get a tune.

Think I would rather have the Stainless Works LTs, about half the price.

Easy fix with two spark plug nofolwes per o2 sensor. I think I'll go bbk about a third of the price. They do cause cel as well but the forum has a fix for that...( eg the spark plug. Nonfolwers)

Yep I have the ARHs I was the second person to have them installed. And NOPE - no CEL was thrown on mine. I think it may just depend.

I'm not going to knock BBK or Stainless Works, but ARH has the largest diameter primaries, and they are formed to the flange, not pressed. May not mean a bunch to some, but it's quality you can see.

Also, the quickest N/A, or otherwise, v6 on the board sports ARH, lol!!

Yea I didn't get any CELs either, but I got the tune anyway, because I changed the car so much. I just wanted to make sure everything was running together well.

I also think the ARHs sound better than the BBK. But who knows, I am crazy young and stupid

We offer 1-3/4" and could you elaborate on what the difference between forming to the flange and pressing? Essentially one would use a press with some sort of die to form fit a primary to the flange.

I generally am reluctant to buy a product that isn't independently tested and proven. I have yet to see any independent testing on any headers but ARH. I was hoping I could take a look at BBK, SW, ARH and Pacesetter results. I would have based my purchase on performance alone which I did.

Gameover, Not sure where you got your information. We offer our system with various options. If you compare apples to apples you'll see the price is pretty close. If we cost more than any other brand I can guarantee you it's justified.

That's cool, I didn't know you offered yours in 1 3/4" for the v6. Learn something new everyday!

Pressing is just that, stick the tube in a press, hit the pedal/buttons, it applies pressure on two sides and flattens the tube to the correct shape.

Formed is what you described, only it applies the pressure all the way around the tube. This equal loading applies less stress to the tube, and should make for a stronger end product.

I don't know if it matters much in the end with headers, pressed or formed, but I prefer the formed tube. I have a set of JBA shorty headers, and they are pressed, there is a distinct difference between the two sets. The ARH's just have a better look of quality.

Again, no offense was meant. Just my opinion.

Looking at the prices, Nick is right though, Stainless Works and ARH are right inline with each other. Unless one finds a special, one isn't going to get the Stainless headers at 50% of the cost of ARHs. BBKs, well, they are cheaper.
