Has anyone ever had to use your tow hook?

I was thinking since this track stuff seems to be growing in popularity. Has anyone ever needed to actually use your tow hook?

They are handy when pulling the car up on to a tow truck.

Trust me. If you pursue this hobby long enough sooner or later you'll need to be towed in. The tow guys will likely have something snip your zip ties off, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Possibly.. My birthday is the 18th so maybe I'll make that a present for myself. Still too early to decide though.

Best regards,

Its only a matter of time before the engine or an axle grenades itself.

On the Camaro,, not yet...On other cars yes.

On one I installed a new short block during the week, fired it up on Friday night and ran at the track on Saturday........I forgot to snug the oil pressure sensor...Oil all over the engine bay and a tow back to the pits. Another one. I went to fast into a corner....grass was wet noised it into the beach. Another time lost oil pressure.....I am sure there are more but I blocked them out of my head

It's a pretty long story but short version is I broke a valve spring at Sebring. Put new springs in only to find that the valve had hit the piston. Valve broke off taking out a couple pistons and cylinder heads. Got all that fixed with ebay parts then shattered two connecting rods, sending a wrist pin thru the side of the block. But didn't get one drop of oil on the track. This was in November at Roebling road. Now I'm waiting on a short block.

Daytona is a very cool place. Pretty intimidating at first. I was getting the balls to go faster and faster. I got up to 158 pretty easily during the last session and was getting ready to go for a bonsai lap. I was coming up on a guy in a new challenger just before the bus stop when he wrecked bad. I was scared as shit because he kicked up a bunch of dirt and debris and I couldn't tell where he was. Luckily he was off into the tires and ended up being ok.

Potentially but I have to check the schedule as there is an USCA event in Portland August 1-3 and I don't know if I'll have enough time to recover..

I will more than likely be out there.

Kind regards,

Jordan Priestley
