my first 5TH Gen!! Pic's added
Hi gang after joining back in 3/8/17 I couldn't leave my 4th gen's to move up to the 5Th as soon as I thought so I waited, until now.
P/U a 2010 Orange and black 6 speed SS with 56,000 on the clock. CAI, B&B exhaust blacked out tail section, black billet grill, the wider wrap around style rear spoiler, BTW any one have this type spoiler? A little concerned about rear visibility issues? Any way, very excited after 5 4th gen's over the years to finally make the jump at $17,000 I think the price is right. Will post Pic soon as I can! p.s. with 6 speed 4th gen's the hot set up was 4:10 gears, how about the 5th gen 6 speed? Thx, Wayne, Callahan FL Last edited by gmhitec; 09-17-2019 at 07:07 AM. |

They drive better with a gear unless you add some boost. The 391s out of the 1LE are nice but 410s help out even more. Congrats on the 5gen.

I'm guessing by "6 speed" you 5th gen is a Manual 6 speed vs Automatic 6 speed. We typically say A6 or M6 with all the manual shifting you can do with automatics these days.
Congrats on the jump to 5th Gens. I had a 2nd Gen ('78 Z28) for the longest time and love the old school as well as the new school.

Welcome and congrats on the new to you Camaro. The 5th gen platform is a great platform with a HUGE aftermarket when the mod bug bites.

Will my car have the AFM, or is it only on the A6's?

Only automatics have AFM/DOD and VVT unlike the 6th gen cars. All LT1 engines have AFM lifters just some don't utilize it.

Like you I jumped from a 4th Gen to a 5th Gen and honestly it took a little getting used to. The thing that really converted me was how much easier the 5th is to work on. I still miss my T-Top and the easy to read gauges and most importantly the HUGE storage in the 4th but overall the 5th is a better performance car. Enjoy!

Congrats. 4th gens are no slouches (as you may find out later) and can defend themselves very well on the street. I had to have both.
Good luck.
