Hey 2010, what kind of helmets did you buy. Not sure if most are going full coverage or open face for test and tunes. I noticed the Camaro 5 Fest was advertizing an open face. I'll bet RS and your car are really turning some heads in ABQ.

Open face is legal until you get to 9.99 & quicker, then you have to have a full faced helmet. When I raced in Phoenix, they did check for the Snell 2005 sticker.

OK...Got the front racing brake two piece rotors on with the stainless steel brakelines. Man hand to hit autozone for the cheap tools, whats up with metric bolts and torx sockets? Damn I guess I need to hit up the snap on truck for some new tools.
Good thing is I flushed out the nasty dot3 and put in some new dot4. I think there is even some better I will check with racing brake on that one. And you know using a jack....yep forgot about the emergency brake cable....man that thing is loud when you get through the plastic cover Well a few zipties and she is good to go. Cant wait to see how these MT drag radials hook up. I will try to get some pics up this next week. Wish me luck, and I will let you guys know how I ran later.

Supercharged cars and turbo cars faster than 13 sec require a jacket as well. Didn't seem as though they enforced this rule. Weather permitting we will be out running them next Saturday.

mws, nothing wrong with adding new tools to the box. I'm sure you will use them again. Looking forward to your results this time out, keep us posted. Did anyone ever install the air oil separator. Just curious as ADM installed one on the ADM LPE 416 TVS 2300 BUILD and says it is a must have item. It appears to be an LPE built oil air separator?

If there is any oil getting into the intake, it would be a good idea to add the catch can. People with stock engines are getting oil in the intake on LS series engines. I am going to add one as it is a good idea..just to be safe.Down the road when I step up the power a lot, it'll already be there and plumbed in the system. |

Thanks for the info Paul and 570. I guess adding a $200 catch can on these cars even if not needed is a small investment for piece of mind.

I ordered a dual gauge pod pillar from fesler and it arrived a few days ago. I also ordered the AeroForce dual gauge set up. Check out what they can do: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/action.html

In normal street driving I get a bit of oil in my catch can. It is a very small amount. On the other hand, I drain it after every road course track session. The more you drop gears while braking into turns, the more oil you will see in the catch can. Paul Tracy holds the record. He makes a six speed sound like an F 1 paddle shift dropping multiple gears in each turn while braking.

We might have to look more into these catch cans. On a side note, I did a little test and not really any tuning, practice session on our little roads near the house today. I must say that between the tires, and the upgraded temperature today, things were far grippier! I had T/C off, practiced some burnouts, and then just flat out drove as many full throttle starts as the road /traffic permitted, and it was impressive the improvement in grip! Watch out RS. We're rootin' for you MWS, have fun and post up some racin' stories.

Well the tires do hook better.....to bad the track was in terrible condition.
Still had all the sand from fridays 70 mph sand storm on it. But I did manage a 13.49 the MT's seem to like 15 psi but I want to play with it a little more. Going to talk with the track owner to see if he sweep the track and maybe spray a little VHT nest weekend.

To tell you how bad it was even with the traction control ON spun the first three gears while trying to feather the throtle. Last one was the best I think the sand was slowly getiing blown off the track.
