Well, for me it was a way of life growing up. My dad was a staunch GM guy and we hated Fords. Plain and simple. I carry on the tradition. I actually don't hate Fords, especially with all the foreign cars running around, but I could never own a Ford, unless of course my only other choice was a foreign car. In that case I would have a Mustang in a HEARTBEAT

He ran a 2.06 60'. You'll see him go a lot faster. The cars are ridiculously evenly matched. It seems like it's going to be as close to a perfect match as possible.

MUSTANG I don't know how we could have any more conversation about this topic when it was beat to death. If you don't know by now what the mustang and the camaro run in the 1/4 mile then you must have been living under a rock for the past six months. Why can't we just call it a drivers race and put this one to bed for good. |

And I think their faster runs are on DOT approved tires, ie not slicks. MMFF went 12.30s on just a tire on a 2011 GT. |

Remember a bone stock very base 3.31 geared 2011 GT ran a 12.7 @ 112mph stock also.
The gears are just icing no the cake, the 2011 GT by no means the gear to compete with the SS. It is a drivers race between the SS vs GT. |

Very respectable times for the 2011 Mustang GT. If it weren't for the poor 2.0 60 foot times, the car would of been quite a bit quicker.
Any good driver, knows that 2.0 60 foot times is bad. Get it down to the 1.4 - 1.6 time range for the 60 foot times, and the car would of been easily down to the 12.2-12.4 times in the quarter mile. Like the driver stated, there was really bad wheel spin. Fix that issue, whether it be driver error or what not, the car will be fine. |

LOL. 13.7 quarter mile times compared to around a 14.3-14.4 ...not at all. Then again, I haven't read through the whole thread, so maybe I am missing something. The V6 camaro needs to shed some weight, add some more horsepower, and get some better gears, and then I think it would be able to compete more performance wise.

Me like both Mustang and Camaro. I must say though that I have never owned a Mustang and actually hated them back in the late 80's when I owned five 3rd Gen Camaros (not all at the same time) and the 5.0 was just all over the Z28s and IROCs. I almost bought a GT500 just days before I finally ordered the Camaro. In all the years of being around cars since the 80's, I have grown to appreciate them all. Mustangs or Camaros, if you are a car enthusiasts, you like them all and know what I am talking about. The only thing I find annoying are those who brag and term their cars more than they actually are....just be happy with what you got V6'ers. BTW, appearance is subjective and the measly 10-20hp difference and .037385 faster/slower crap is meaningless unless your career and job depended on it.
