Another Tune Question
Just wanted to know really quick. i know shorties (for looks) don't need a tune and solo's HF cats dont need a tune, but will DT shorties, Solo HF cats and SW retro cat-back need a tune when combined? (not for horse power but for how the motor will run.) Thanks.

That's the answer i was looking for. I want to keep my warranty so i do not want to tune if i don't have to but i wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt anything. (Such as running lean etc.)

you don't need a tune, but a custom tune sure helps....and you should not have any warranty issues, unless your dealership just want to be @ssholes....

I've seen a lot of mixed answers on here about tunes. What about LT Headers with HF Cats and exhaust? I have heard that you can tune and it will get you more power, I have also heard that you have to tune with LT headers. I know I won't get as much horsepower without the tune but is it really a "must" to tube with LT headers?

With long tube headers you do need a tune, because it can cause the system(motor) to run lean. So, so far it looks like I will be fine without a tune, is this correct?...

when adding LTs you will get a check engine light on, and it just not a good idea to be rolling around with a check engine light on. if something is really wrong with car you will not know tell its to late. thats one reason why people tune.
people are saying you don't need to tune with LTs and it wont hurt the engine. but to me i am not going to take that chance. and i want my car to run properly. no matter what. |
