Throttle Body Coolant By Pass

On earlier models engine coolant was routed through the throttle body to prevent it from icing up in the colder northern climate, is this still in use on our cars or did GM do away with this? I tried a search but came up with nothing.

No change that I know of. They make a kit to re-route if you want.

FYI, there aren't any coolant running through the TB on my car. I just installed a V-Max ported unit on it and there were no coolant hoses to remove or reroute.

I believe GM did away with that starting in 2005 with the LS2. The 2004 LS1/LS6 should have been the last ones to have it. (some trucks might..)

There is a coolant hose sitting on top of my manifold. Not sure if your re-laying correct information. I have the heater hose re-location kit on my shopping list.

What in the world do those two coolant lines laying on top of the intake manifold have to do with the throttle body

Heater Hoses are not TB Coolant lines from the F-body and early GTO days. That is no longer an issue.

I mis-understood the question. Never the less the heater hose is laying on top of the manifold Can't be a good thing. Would it not warm the air similar to it running through the TB.

mercuryman, I do agree with you there. One would think they would warm the intake a bit. I personally don't think it'd be a huge increase but relocating them does look 100 times better.
