I have no way to read IAT's currently settings were track or sport mode most of the day ( i used sport mode because track mode was not letting me do a burnout without the line lock). and before anyone gets triggered by that, it was so hot all I wanted to do was clean the tires in the heat of the day, getting them hot only made 60ft times worse. center gauge was set to race, and 10% slip. on a side note, I did place 1st loser in my class |

Ok well that was your problem IMO, not heat soak. In a Drag race, you want to be in Track mode, Race. Or just hold traction control down for 7 seconds and turn it all off completely. I haven't tried turning it all off, but plan to next time I'm out.
In sport mode the car didn't give you all the power. |

I agree with Blast.
I will also add that you need to lower the tire pressure to 26-28 psi and do a 5-10 second burn out. Track PTM race enables line lock and launch control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

^^^This... if you can't read IAT2 then you have no idea if you are heat soaking or not.
^^^This makes no sense. Heat soaking is supercharger temps and has nothing to do with transmission. Comments in this thread have nothing to do with heat soak. I ran back to back to back runs in 100 deg heat at Camaro Fest last year and m 3rd run was faster than the 1st. As previously mentioned I could never do that in the 5th Gen Z. |

there are a lot of people that say their fastest passes were in sport mode...I have another thread on it a few pages back. Tire pressure was 22-25 depending on the time of day tires were MT S/S 325/30/19 DR. I could feel the power come back later in the evening.....yes in sport mode. it wasn't a traction issue or setting when you could feel and see the slower rpm pull on the PDR. |

I suppose it could be heatsoak, but without any real data it’s hard to say. And just as an FYI, the ECU uses “manifold air temp” for its timing control. IAT2 is no longer the PID used. As far as I know, manifold air temp is a calculation based on coolant temp, IAT1, and IAT2. This is why I have a 160 thermostat in mine.
That said, I’ve found high IATs in all my supercharged cars when in situations like that. At the half mile events I run, it’s definitely been an issue in my other cars. Making a hard pull, then basically parking the car with a hot engine is recipe for heatsoak. Post-blower meth injection is the only thing I found that could get my IATs back down quickly. It really doesn’t matter how efficient your heat exchangers are if you have no airflow through them (like when sitting in a hot staging lane). Just one more thought... I’d be very interested to see what your throttle was doing on these pulls. I wouldn’t be shocked if you were getting throttle closure. I’m not sure if your shorter rear tires could have been screwing with the torque management system, but these cars can be quirky. Either way, logging or monitoring throttle position and manifold air temp should tell you what you need to know. |

Power may or may not be the same. Traction control will intervene faster in Sport and cut power or dump boost as necessary.

Run with you hood open. Dyno style. I’ve never understood that one...

I think we're talking about 2 different settings. Sounds like you're talking about Sport 1 and Sport 2 of the PTM settings, which will cut power and allow TC to intervene more. I'm talking about Sport Mode (outside of Track Mode), then either turning everything off by holding the TC button or entering Competitive Mode by double tapping It. Sport Mode gives you all the power just like Track Mode before you enter PTM. All PTM settings have a bit of intervention at some point, even Race.
