Shark fin removal

How do you pop the shark fin off of the roof? Are there any connections or is the plastic piece just a cover? The reason is I want to take mine off and get it painted with the engine cover

I had mine painted and the shop said they had to take a panel off the inside to get access to disconnect the wires and pop it off. I'm guessing the panel had to be part of the headliner or close to it but am not positve.

Your car is black and the fin is already black; what color would you paint it?

I heard it's a bitch to remove. You have to drop the headliner to do it.

I want to get mine painted to match the body color. I also want the brakes painted red. It's gonna look great with those LS7 wheels Hylton!

I dont think the red brake look is very cool , looks kind of childish to me I would paint them black just an opinion if thats what you like thats all that matters

I want it painted gloss black along with the engine cover, it would look a lot better than the flat, cheap, plasticy black. If it's such a PITA I may hold off then.

I wonder if painting it negatively affects the reception.

Instead of a black paint, maybe a gloss clear?

Yeah, I'm not set on red yet. I think any color other than the factory flat black would look better. Maybe gloss black?
