Can anyone tell me how to cut the roller skates off?

I just received my new drilled and slotted rotors along with new brake pads however the front pads came with roller skates on the pads which I did not want because they will not allow me use my new wheels that I have coming next week. I knew I would have had to cut the roller skates off if I did not replace my brakes so that is why I ordered new ones when I ordered the new rotors but I don't want to go thru the hassle of returning them and waiting on them sending me new ones so how do you go about just cutting them off? anyone have and pics or a video they would be willing to share with me? Thanks in advance Don

I agree that the cutting should be very straightforward, if you want to cut them off. Then use a file to dress the edges. No videos needed, I should think.

Don, if you can replace your own brakes (not breaks), then you can cut those harmonic dampeners off. Easy peasy....

The brake pads are affixed in the caliper. They don't rotate with the rotor or wheel. They have no affect on wheel/tire balance.

They are just part of the brake pad. When I put my new Hawk Ceramic pads on there were no roller skates on them. So I thought I just ordered the wrong ones. You don't really need them. And I have put 30,000 on them with no problems.

No worries, Don. We all have to edit every now and then....I'd cut at #2. Round the edges, and it will look like a stock NonOEM pad.
