Question about E-Force Tune

Guys, I'm in the process of installing my E-Force but I'm a bit concerned about the tune Edelbrock supplies with the kit. My car already has a custom tune, which adjusts the speedometer for the 4.10 gears, disables the skip shift, and of course has custom fuel trim levels.

My question is, if I install the Edelbrock tune will it simply make changes to the air/fuel mixture and leave all my other tune settings as they were? I would expect so, but I want to be sure.

I've posted the same question on the Edelbrock forum, if they answer any time soon I'll post their response here.

it comes with a handheld tuner (SCT I think)...I would think you'd be able to adjust those things w/ the tuner.

You Should be able to adjust with the tuner but just remember the tune they send you is for a stock motor with just their suprecharger. To get the best results bring it to you tuner and get it dyno tune see your numbers and know everything is running right.

The Tune that comes with the supercharger is for the supercharger system installed on a stock car.

If you car has headers or an aftermarket air box then you need a custom tune.

The SCT that comes with the Edelbrock does NOT have any user adjustable options, it is a set it and forget it tune file.

The Edelbrock tune will overwrite your current custom tune changes.

Ted, are you sure it will overwrite all the ECM settings? It seems to me they would load your current tune into the SCT, adjust the air/fuel parameters and flash it back into the ECM. Thus, leaving the speedo, skip shift, rev limit, etc setting unchanged.

It depends on how the changes are applied and to what.

Here are a couple possibilities.

1) It takes the file out of the car and applies a Value file that only makes certain changes.

2) It looks at the calibration number and works from a database and applies the full Edelbrock calibration.

3) It Takes the file out of the car and applies the full Edelbrock Calibration.

Since the Tuner is Universal for all 2010 Camaros, I would expect it to pull the calibration from the car and apply the Edelbrock Value File.

In this case it would leave things like Rev limit, Speed Limit, and Gear Changes alone since Edelbrock does not adjust these settings.

But Mass air calibration, Commanded A/F ratio, Power enrichment, Timing, injector values, torque management, Mass air tests, Map tests, certain codes, all will be changed.

Ted.
