Need help reinstalling SS badge on grille
Hey all,
I am replacing the SS badge on my grille today because the old had gotten really chipped and looked awful. I removed the front piece from the grille (with the emblem on it) replaced it, and then went to reinstall it but the backing piece inside of the grille fell down, and I have no idea how to properly reinstall it. I am unable to remove the entire front fender at the moment, so if anyone has ideas on how to do this without having to do all of that, please let me know. Here’s a picture I found of the two pieces, and also a picture of the specific grille design I have. Last edited by 2SSVert2014; 07-26-2024 at 01:18 PM. Reason: Fix images |

Choices as I see it.
- Rig up something to hold the pieces and work (probably more of a pain than it's worth). - Remove front bumper cover. - Small child like hands to do it. - Go get the OEM emblem, which is double stick and pins with no backer plate to bolt on. I had the bumper cover off anyway, but in my case, I bought a ZL1 insert and a cover plate for the ZL1 badge, then trimmed the pins from OEM badge and put it on with the factory doublestick. All has been fine. |

I just used some 3M VHB Tape and stuck it on to the Heritage Grille. So far, so good.
