Widest tires you can fit on the stock 20's?

Hi Team,
I guess my question is....what is the largest size(width) tire i can fit on the stock 20? I would like some 305 or 315 on the rear. Is that possible? And can this damage the vehicle?

I inquired about going wider as I was looking at many other types of tires such as the Pilot Super Sports... and I was told 255 Front and 285 Rear was as wide as I should go in any tire brand

Isnt the idea to put as small a tire on and streach it to the rim for best performance though? Why you you want a wobbly sidewall?

Recommended 20" tires for 2010 Camaro
245/45-20 = 28.7" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel
255/45-20 = 29.0" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel
265/40-20 = 28.4" tall, 8.5-9.0 wheel
275/40-20 = 28.7" tall, 9.0-9.5 wheel
285/40-20 = 28.9" tall, 9.0-10.0 wheel
295/35-20 = 28.1" tall, 9.5-10.5 wheel
305/35-20 = 28.4" tall, 10.0-10.5 wheel
315/35-20 = 28.7" tall, 10.5-11.0 wheel

ANOTHER one of these threads?!?!

Does no one anymore? Hell, you probably wouldn't have to. There are probably 3 threads on page one of the "tire/wheel" section titled "how wide of a tire..."

on this idea as well.

The tires MADE for these wheels are 245 (f), 275 (r).... THOSE ARE THE TIRE SIZES.

You want bigger tires, GET BIGGER WHEELS!!! You are a danger to yourself and everyone else on the road when stretch/squeeze tires on a wheel they aren't meant for.

When you buy shoes, do you buy your size or just say... Eh, these look better... don't fit for shit but so what, I'll stretch them over my feet? again.

Thats nice... I'd love to see the wear pattern and how cupped they were. No one said it just couldn't be done... its just STUPID to do it. I am happy for you that you did not have a problem but you could... Like the tire could pop the bead from being over stressed and "squeezed" on the narrow wheel.

No where in post 8 does it say anything about a sleeper.

Listen pal, you'll never convince me this is a good idea just because you did it. It's a bad idea, period. I can't believe you found a shop that would squeeze them on.

why take a risk? buy bigger wheels and bigger tires. think about the danger to others, if you loose a tire during driving on highway. this is not a cheat korean car, so take cash in hand and do it properly. enough wheels in bigger size available.

in addition: we have enough guys here that do the same. u can always find them on the left and right from the street, kicking the hell out of their cars as they lost a backtire.
