I don't have a neck rubbing problem but I have a problem with the belt tension across my chest. It makes me feel claustrophobic. So I took one of those spring steel paper clips and glued with silicon RTV some small aquarium silicone tubing on all the edges. I then pull the belt a little loose so it is not putting pressure on my chest and put the clip on the shoulder belt and against the magnetic strap. I keep it just loose enough that I cant feel it. In a crash the automatic tensioner will pull the magnetic strap loose just like it would normally. This might work for the rubbing as well.

Pretty cool idea but have you considered NOT using the strap on the seat? Just let the belt hang naturally. I've never used the strap and the seat belt has always been comfortable for me. I never really understood the strap because it car wear down and damage the seat due to the seat belt rubbing all the time.

It looks like you have an invention. Have you approached GM with your solution? Have you done a Patent Search? That looks like you could use it for many applications not just the Camaro, i.e., any car or truck that uses the leather strap. Good on ya , Mate!

For those of you that have done this, has the new strap reduced or eliminated the separation of the stiching where the original strap is sewn to the seat? I just found today that the strap is slightly tearing away on the drivers side and worse on the passenger seat.

Thanks

Wow.... I didn't think it would work.... But it totally does! Took me about ten minutes, but probably should've taken half the time. I'm a little slow! :-P

I'm 5'6" and keep my seat all the way down no issues here with the belt . Cool idea though.

I cut my nylon straps today off of a back pack. I will make mine today. The seat belts in these cars are the one thing I hate.

I don't have any problems with the seatbelt. I am surprised that many of you do.

I'm 5'8 and have never had a problem with the belt rubbing against my neck; it rests comfortably on my shoulder.
