Good looking car, too much coin!

You can go to Lingenfelter for less than that and get way more car.

1. Still has the 2014 tails, so no thanks
2. For $100,000 I'd have a laguna blue Corvette Stingray in my custom decked out-with-tools garage

The "Black" label's specs aren't on the link above, so I can't tell what it has.

the "yellow" label is just an SS with an Edelbrock E-Force supercharger.

Not sure what the Florida dealership is smoking to ask for $100K..

There are a TON of GM specialized performance shops that can build a SS that'll ROFLSTOMPWTF?BBQ all over the Saleen for far cheaper than $100K

Subtract $50k and that should sound about right. These guys are rediculous...must be for their mustang owner to camaro transition program. Can't go cold turkey during the transition.

We had one at a dealership we worked at. The price point is a bit high, but you get like everything changed. Plus I think ours was priced in the 85ishK range. It's a showroom piece, it looks nice
Basically you're paying for:
-Rarity (Have you seen one on the road? Yea exactly)
-Extra goodies that are 'Saleen' special
-Saleen's autograph (Increased resale value when he goes away let's be honest)

Is it better than the ZL1? Yea, slightly. Is is 40-30k better? Ehhh, you know what, I'd rather just get a C7.

The butterfly valve hood though is straight sex.

Are you for real? The Saleen doesn't even touch a ZL1 in fit, finish, OR performance.

As for the butterfly valve...as I mentioned in my post, THEY ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL. There's nothing that screams ricer more than non-functional gimmicky parts on a car.

As for the Saleen name, it's pretty much become useless in the car world now-a-days. All bark no bite type of thing. His name means nothing anymore. I see Saleen and I don't walk I RUN the other way. Just a useless timebomb of issues waiting to happen. If you buy it to garage and never drive, then I guess you could claim some validity to value, but that thing is priced nearly double what it should be.

Stingray was my first thought... with the next $101k I have laying around collecting dust, I'd score a Stingray AND some flavor of Camaro that's 98% of what that Saleen is...

I'd rather have a Z/28 for $25,000 less. It's a nice looking car, but too much for that price.

Let me reiterate. The ZL1 is a better car, however the Saleen has a better "feel" if that makes sense. I can go fast in a ZL1, but I "feel" faster in the Saleen. It's weird

Just because it's not functional doesn't mean it looks cool. Gill covers provide no function whatsoever, but they look cool. I think it looks good, you many not. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder my friend.

Right on! Talk about performance. That Z/28 would eat the Saleen for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and then come back the next day for more. Hell, I'd put my 1LE STOCK up against that POS any day.

Gill covers were not my choice. Saleen has a CHOICE with the hood louvers, and even worst actually tries to make them LOOK like they're doing something. Our gills are just indentations, nothing more or less.

As for feel, that's a seat of the pants comfort thing. I can setup a car that feels excellent to me, but you may think it feels like crap. All depends on what you want in the feel of a cars handling. Nice thing is, you can functionally change either, but by default the Saleen is going to "feel" better because it's a softer/weaker SS suspension, not the beefier race-prep'd ZL1 suspension.
