Pfadt went out of business. American Racing is good stuff. So is Kooks. If it were my car I would get 2" headers to support more power later. I also don't believe in catalytic converters in a supercharged application. They will eventually plug up and fail if you drive your car hard.

phadt is done so other than in the clasifieds you are SOL.

ARH (american racing headers) $1200-1400
Kooks $1100-1300
dynatech $1100-1300
stainless works $1k-1200
stainless power (1 7/8's only (overseas welded stainless works is the parent company) $589-759

those are what I would look at and did look at when buying.

I cheaped out and went stailess works this week will install next week. can't really find a bad review on them.

We use and install KOOKS 90% of the time as their fit, finish and workmanship is very good. ARH and stainless works are good too, but I feel kooks offer the best value.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Is it true that the catalytic converters will plug up in a supercharged application?

Most aftermarket ones will due to heat, yes.

Isn't that as a result of (poor) tuning and having the EGT's too high?

As you add power you exceed what the OEM cats were designed to do.

I've installed them all, and like ARH the best. Most vendors seem to push kooks because I believe there is more mark up. Kooks are good, I just like ARH more. Typically they have longer primaries and make a tiny bit more power.

Because of the build material and quality, the thickness just seems better and of a higher quality also the welds are better than most. I've had em all and kooks is top notch and Made in the USA!! Customer service is also good. Their fitment is also always better too IMO.
