Im Sick to My Stomach!

Totally wish I didn't take my car out tonight, I was parking trying to get close to the curb b/c Im so afraid of someone hitting it when I hear the worst noise I've ever heard. I got out and the rim looked fine till a closer inspection revealed it was scratched :( I have the polished aluminum rims and it just looks terrible now. I have the warranty on the tires/wheels but I checked and it says it doesn't cover cosmetic damage, is there anything I can do to get it back to normal or am I pretty much screwed? :( Please someone give me some good news! Just when I thought I was getting used to not being able to see the curb lol....

Depending how bad it's scratched and it's a polished rim a good wheel shop should be able sand it down and buff it out

Here's good news.. you figure at least 30% of new owners are doing an upgrade to their rims.. so theres many out there for you to get your hands on.

Who would pay 450.00 extra for polished rims and then upgrade?

The same guy willing to pay $4 grand to get the 21".

Sorry I know you don't know me very well but I had to. I am sure there are people out there that will get "every" option and then it still won't be enough, they have to get "something" bigger and better.

I would be patient, and not park as close to the curb for a while.

But sorry PQ... I agree here too. $4gs is a lot for the 21s.

To the OP. I had some curb rash on my 1989 IROCs wheels, I just sanded it off. Since you have the polished wheels and they are not painted, they are pretty forgiving. Now would I start sanding on them... maybe, can;t really make it worse. This is what I did with just some sand paper. Saned off all the clear coat then polished them with neverdull. Did not re-apply cc so in essence I have "polished alum" but not high polished. i wanted the factory look and in 89 this was it. I used a dremmel to remove 99% of the curb rash but the 89 IROC wheels have a lip, also more forgiving... good luck!

Someone might upgrade if they bought polished rims on a car that was on dealer lot. Now they might ant 21 inch rims. It could happen...

Ok, fair enough. (I think) But I didn't pay extra for the stock wheels an THEN upgrade. That's my point. And I'll say this, after having these wheels on here and getting the comments I do, I would pay even MORE for them. GM hit a home run with these. If you go aftermarket (and don't have connections) and pay less than 4Gs for rims AND tires, you got some cheap crap.

Ok, BOT

When that jackass hit my car it scraped the rim as well. It can be fixed. I know it doesn't seem like it but like the other guy said, grind and polish.
