^^^ i agree with you TAG... but I mean its not like we haven't waited long enough.... don't tell me we haven't.... this was bound to happen at one point or another after this much time and focus on one car. I mean this car literally has rock star status with similar attention on it. So in that sense I don't feel bad reading something from someone that perhaps shouldn't be saying anything. I think with this much attention on the car... perhaps GM is a few months to late in releasing official information.... im not saying show the production car.... but start releasing actual real information about now....if they dont... with the car in its ready stages as it is....someone is going to blow the horn...its unavoidable really. But at the same time i understand if i was on the other side of the fence working on the car... I would probably want to be the one giving the information...... I just think GM is going to get too late in doing so. The next few moths I assure you we are probably going to end up knowing a good chunk about all the versions of the car through leaked channels.... which to me says GM under-analyzed people's lust for information to know things about this car. But on a side note.... this guy shawn from the other site.... it sure looks like his shit is legit.... I hope he's right! 430hp for a SS at or about 30k.... im sold!!!!

You know, hearing all this stuff that may or may not be true, and that Fbodfather may or may not be able to confirm OR deny, I'm starting to feel like a reporter who has been assigned the Pentagon.

CTS-V
HP ~ 550 Torque ~550 Not bad. Not bad at all. I'd like to see an RS package also along with SS, Z28. Remember, GM, Z28 was the track star. Hope the rest of my Dream Team lineup is built, think 427 ci ZR1 but only 69 of em.

As far as weight, I was a little surprised. EDIT: Not that surprised and after I thought about it, I read the Infiniti G37 coupe gained weight because they added strength everywhere, but they added special strength just for the coupe to hold the bigger doors properly. Right now, the G coupe weighs more than the sedan. That may change when the sedan gets the coupe's updated platform in 2009. So 100lbs less than a G8 GT shouldn't surprise me. I guess I was hoping for some trickery to yield 3700-3800lbs. Oh well...Still love it! l

hmm... 430hp 12.7 @ 113... must be the 6spd Manual
That means if you get the Auto, some sticky tires, and a nice Torque Converter you will be flirting with 11s, legally pure as the driven snow. Too bad its such a fat-ass. :( We would almost be talking an 11sec car out of the box! ....and with IRS and who knows what else as well. We will definately see these forums full of bolt-on 11 sec cars and that is a very cool thing. Quote:

Take out the child-only back seats and you have some 50-75 pounts right there. I might keep them in storage and create a custom box or just a piece to cover the body. That's one step closer to the weight goal of 3500. =)

Hey...I agree with you 100%...That's what I've thought the entire time as well. I never cared too much about the top trim level Camaro, though, so I just focused on the base V8. And I also agree with your (and the info) in saying that the base model V8 will be an 'SS' and the top will be 'Z28'.
