I once got a model one. It's practically really precise. It's just like the concept. It's just a bit hard.

I have the 1:18 scale Jada Camaro still in the box and then had all of the Metalfinish group from the Oshawa Camaro Plant sign their names on the top clear plastic with a Sharpie Metallic Pen . This is a keeper for my two boys Now i'll just wait till we start building the Vert and get the team to sign that model's box top.

I was told by Kevin Davey the owner of Greenlight a while back that Jada was awarded exclusive rights from GM. He said he had to beg and plead and beg some more before Jada would allow him rights to do the 1/64th scale. I assume that Mattel/HotWheels had to as well. Kevin used to work in the licensing department at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and would work with companies like Johnny Lightning when they were producing pace car diecasts until he started Greenlight. Unfortunately IMS has recently awarded Mattel/Hotwheels exclusive rights for any diecast models/toys and Greenlight had to remove the "Pace Car Garage" section from their website and can no longer do any pace car or IRL racing die-casts.

As for the 2009 Camaro Indy 500 pace car diecasts which in all likelyhood will be done by Mattel/HotWheels (unless of couse they allow someone else to do some), latest word is it won't be until around December before they are available. Still don't know what scale, but so far the only scale Mattel has been allowed to do is 1/64th.

That's disturbing. Jada sucks, big time. They don't even look like cars; they look like cartoons.

I'm a big fan of ERTL's American Muscle series, and Green Light is awesome for 1/64.

Greenlight has also done some real nice 1/24 and 1/18th pace cars. The 1/18th ones are pretty highly detailed like the '86 'Vette and '89 Turbo T/A . I collect pace car diecast and was pretty bummed when IMS made the deal with Mattel.

There is lots of stuff out there, diecast and other products. I have over 50 variations, most are Concept Camaro's and transformer cars. Most are pretty good and there is a large scale Bumble out there for the new transformers movie that is awesome, if you find it buy it, you won't be disappointed. Well unless you can figure our how to transform it from an autobot to the car. LOL I am sure there will be much more to come.

Every Jada I've seen has either exaggerated features that make it look cartoonish, or ridiculously large wheels that make it look a ghetto pimp car in my opinion.

Now, if they're actually making accurate replicas, please let me know; I just haven't seen them.

Edit: OK, I went back and followed the link to the Chevymall, and looked at the 1/64 Jada. It's a small picture, so kind of hard to tell, but it looks like it's more of an accurate replica.
