1969 Chevelle

Thought I'd share some pics of our '69 Chevelle SS clone. This was originally a 307 automatic Chevelle Malibu. We wanted a car that we weren't afraid to drive due to originality so a clone fit the bill perfectly. It's just a fun, good looking cruiser with a big 454 and a 4 speed. Power disc brakes, power steering, power brakes and power windows. Pretty basic other than adding a set of Dakota Digital VHX gauges to replace the troublesome factory gauges. Really fun cruiser but hot here in Texas with no AC!

Gauges after we installed them. You can hear the car running too.

Greatness. Thanks for sharing. I like the clone idea... No fear of modding a classic.

A buddy at work is building an LSX '71 Chevelle. These cars always look good and are great to shoot.

Thanks! I'd love to do something like an LSX for this one day. I do enjoy the 454 though and I'm kind of torn between going restomod or going even closer to original by putting an '69 396 in it.

Wheels are the next on the list though. Either going modern with a retro look or original rally.

Match the wheels to the motor you go with... LSX inside = modern wheels. 396 = retro rally IMO.

Either way is a win.
