Factory Ground Effects Vs No Ground Effects
What is the difference between tail pipes for factory ground effects and no ground effects on a SS.
Do I have to install a system specifically designed for the factory ground effects? If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, SOPMOD OUT!

There are exhaust systems specific to the cars equipped with factory ground effects. They are made integrate into the existing "ports".

Apex Chase,
Thanks for the reply, would like to know what is difference between the two. I know there are kits specifically designed for each body type. Will a kit designed for a non-factory ground effects car work on a car with factory ground effects? Are tail pipes longer or shorter? Has anyone tried either way? SOPMOD...OUT!

I went from no GFX when I bought the car to a GM GFX package. I am running Borla exhaust and was not planning on the GFX until they came by at 1/2 price. I had to cut the tips off to install the GFX. I'm looking at the MBRP as a replacement tip.

4" tips fit in the factory GFX kit. GM did not change tips for cars with GFX and those without.
I added JBAs axleback and have zero issues.

the stock tips are cut to fit and a ring is provided to go over the cut. It is in the instructions.
