Snow Tire Set Up Help
Hey fellow NewEnglandas'
Can you share with what you run in the winter time if you have an SS/RS? Wheel size (both width and diameter) and tires size (same). I am getting feedback that 19 inch wheels will work when everything I read before said 20' only. Also 235 wide tires on 8.5 width wheels? Sorry, more of an engine guy than a wheel/tire guy. Thanks for any help.

Goodyear Eagle GT, same size as stock for the nice days.
2003 Ford Ranger 4wd for snow/wet/crappy days.. barefoot, maybe socks (work from home) for the really yucky snow days... You asked...

I would not do a 19" on a SS you wont clear the Brembo brakes.
I would do a 20" now typically rule of thumb ( back when I lived in New Britain CT) was slimmer wheels and tires to help decrease the drag in the snow. However you have a Camaro I would atleast do a 20x8.5 with a 245/45/20 now if you want a staggered setup then 20x8.5 & 20x10 with the factory sizes 245/45/20 275/40/20 let me know if I can help you out in anyway. |

I talked with Rudy from Tire Rack over the past couple of days. I think I am buying:
-Sport Editions WX5 wheels size 19' 8.5 width -Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 Tires in 235/R55 19' size Not too bad of a price, probably going to need them soon, it's already getting pretty damn cool at night here
