Best bang for the buck in power
hey guys, so I know this question probably is asked over and over but for what I am looking for specifically I don't see a for sure answer that is up to date. I am looking to get around 800 rwhp on my '17 M6 ZL1. Now, problem is I'm in high elevation and we can only get 91 octane max around here. So thats what I plan to run. I am looking to spend 15k max, so on a bit of a budget. I'm completely stock. I also plan on getting corsa xtreme exhaust with that budget line so that may have to be factored in unless its completely unnecessary. I would be willing to go used if something like a mag 2650 is suggested. I just need a list of reliable mods that I would be near that hp range with a tune and 91 octane if at all possible. Thank you so much.

Maggie will get you there easy. 15k is probably enough if you sell your LT4 blower. Check out some other threads, there are quite a few asking almost this exact question.

Just the 2650 mag? Or will I need other things on top of it? Definitely want a corsa xtreme hear those things sound amazing.

Mag 2650
Cam Low side fuel pump or booster 103 TB Kooks catless headers (ceramic coated) And a few other nicks and nacks. You will be well into the 800whp. |

Personally, if I had your budget and goal, I would do the following: Maggie 2650 ($6500 + $1,500 install) Headers (ARH, SW or Kooks, $1,500 + $800 install) Flex fuel ($300 + $100 install) 103mm TB ($650) Cam ($2400 installed) Misc parts (belt, spark plugs, coolant etc, $200) Complete Tune ($1,000) That comes to $14,950 + tax. Don't quote me on prices but I have either paid these rates of seen them posted +/-. This would be a very reliable and easy 800+whp setup. With a goal of anything over 750whp I wouldn't mess around with the factory supercharger. |

Kind of off point but I spent 12k give or take for cam, headers, intake, pulley’s, and ice tank on my C7Z to make 680 rwhp. I spent 5400 on my trackhawk to make high 800’s smh. These lt4’s are great but holy s**t are they ridiculous expensive to modify. I sold my Zl1 2 weeks ago and am waiting to pick up a new gt500 and will see what I can get out of that with bolt on’s. Op you will be kissing 850 with low side, cam, Maggie 2650, and 2 inch long tubes.

I really think if the fuel system was more up to task or easier to upgrade it’d make a huge difference(love some e85) for upgrading the LT4. Anyway, enjoy your 500...more $$$ on the front end, but ease of upgrading to big HP will be nice! |

Numerous builds are out there with MAG 2650, cam, low side fuel, and bolt ons making 800whp. Jannetty has done a few and I don’t think any of his make less than 850whp |

Don't think he changed the heads and was running the booster for the low side. |

I had a cam, lower pulley, headers, CAI and was at 629 RWHP. I was expecting 100-150 increase with the 2650 but I went up 195HP to 824! I also did 103 TB

Is it our cam that is a limiting factor? I see a lot of big power from the HEMI cars, with just bolt-ons, and I know we're limited for fueling on the stock cam. I know the stock Demon cam is pretty aggressive (for stock cams that is), and LT4 is pretty wimpy, so I wonder if that's the key. Even LT5-cams don't seem to be that much bigger than LT1-cams.
I bet that meth will go a long way for 91, too. I've seen many builds without doing the heads. I also don't know you'll get much return in power with the catback either, but if it's within the budget, why not?
