Got my 2LT. Need mods, want to keep warranty tho

Finnaly got my 2LT/RS, I asked about exhauts before and decided on going with either the mrt v1 or slp loudmouth, If I have theese installed, does it void warranty?

What other mods to go along with this can I get that wouldnt void the warranty also? Looking to spend about 1 grand

Halos anyone? I'm just not sure what to have done in this car.

Exhaust and intake mods will not void your warranty. You could also go with some nice lowering springs. The only affect these will have on warranty are for the things you replace. I.E. you won't be able to take it in for an exhaust leak and expect them to cover it under warranty. Halos? I'm assuming your talking about the headlights, in which case if you have the RS you should already have them unless your referring to changing out the color....

Lots of mods available. Check out the Cosemtic forum for appearance stuff. You can do several things that dont void warranty.
Cold Air Intake for a cpl hundred is a good investment.
If you have the RS package it comes with Halos so unless you want brighter, different colors, or a full circle halo you can spend that elsewhere.
After burner lights or the Led taillight set falls in that price range as well.

Lots to choose from. And post pics when you get em done.

yeah basic bolt-ons shouldn't void out the warranty ie: intake, exhaust, headers. but if you get it tuned to change the timing and/or the air/fuel ratio that it would if I'm not mistaken. don't quote me on that but at least I'm under that impression.

as far as i know LT headers are more likely to void warranty, idk about shorty headers though.

Dealer installed my JBA shorty's, no problem with powertrain warranty. Of course the shorties are not covered and any problem they may cause with the O2 sensors.

Then again they said if a CEL occurred, they would look to make sure it wasn't caused by their install.

No problems so far.

You can expect the dealership to void warranty if the problem you are experiencing is being/or was caused by the modification. Magnuson Moss Act.. IE, change your headlights to Eagle Eyes and they fry your electronics, or bulbs burn out.. will not be covered by warranty. Put on aftermarket exhaust, and your clutch goes out.. can not deny warranty on clutch based on new exhaust.

HOWEVER.. your dealership will always have deeper pockets when it comes to law suits and court cases lol.. so if they say theyre going to deny warranty, go see a different dealership, or start the escalation procedure to get higher people involved,

Yeah simple stuff will only void the warranty if they cause the failure. Headers will only void the Exhaust warranty. A tune is the only thing that will really get you in a bind should you need warranty work done. In my case i had a roof gasket leak on the strip from front to back windshields. My exhaust nor my cai caused this so they fixed it. My radio interface quit working and they fixed it. Depending on the dealer they like modding the cars and wont give you any hassle.
