rear end noise?

My 1LE has been making a clunking sound when shifting gears lately so I decided to take car to dealership. They told me that the ball joints that hold the rear end in place our worn and GM has a service bulletin to replace them. Has anyone had this issue or work done?

There isn't ball joints the rear assy in the typical sense, there all bushed flex joints like the front control arms where they attach to the sub- frame.

jwmarler48,

Sorry about the clunking sound you're experiencing. I definitely realize any frustration that this would cause, but it's great that you've proactively reached out to your dealer for an official diagnosis. Please keep us updated on the outcome of your service visit! If additional assistance is needed, please know that I can contact the dealer's Customer Experience Managers if necessary. We'll look forward to your updates.

Kindly,

Will M.
