Too late now probably, but make sure your dealer keeps the old blades. I had an ecm short where it had to be replaced and dealer was unable to reprogram the fob and keys w/o the old blades after security reset (only the key itself worked). End result, New key & fob that again had to be separated. But took a while to get the reorder

However, it has me wondering what they are going to do when I don't have the recall performed. Maybe I should "lose" one of the switchblade's and have the recall performed on just the one? Will this satisfy the recall? Or will the dealer require that I purchase another one?
Don't worry about your insurance coverage re the ignition recall. If the car is
insured, it's insured. Unless your competing in a racing event or using your
car for business, your insured. Also keep your payments current.

Any news on whether this has become mandatory? Went to get oil changes today, the dealer REFUSED to do anything unless I had the key changed.Told me that a law was passed in July stating that they would be fined $10,000 for doing any work with out changing the key.
Went to other dealer across town they had no idea what the other was talking about, and changed my oil.

I bought my 2010 used a few months ago. When I got it the recall had been done on both sets of keys. Thanks to Camaro5 I undid one set:

So much better.

It's not mandatory. ook mine in week beefore last for something and told asked theem if I needed to sign some sort of waiver so that the recall would NOT be done. Service manager told me a waiver wasn't necessary, and the key recall wouldn't be done if I didn't want it to.

...and like me, he thought the recall was a freaking joke.

Its for a bolt for the power seats. It think for the arm for the height adjustment. The bolt can loosen and fall out.
