2017 Camaro 1LE Whipple

I'm looking to buy a Whipple and supporting mods for my 2017 Camaro 1LE next month. I'm just trying to piece everything together right now so I know what to buy. I think I have everything down but just want to confirm; Whipple, headers, LT4 injectors and the ZL1 high pressure fuel pump.

Is there one dealer who would have everything I need?

Thank you!

I got most of my stuff thru WeaponX and Jannetty.

You will also want LS crank seal GM part # 12585673, and sparks plugs, I used NKG-6509, 3 bottles of water wetter. It would be good to also install a gauge to monitor IAT's and boost, i used a P3 gauge with analog boost and am happy with it.

Good luck with your build!

Just my two cents, I wouldn't use water wetter. Use the correct GM coolant instead.

Its added to the GM approved coolant. Also whipple recommends using it right in their instructions.

Depending on how much boost you decide to run, you might want to add a voltage booster or an auxiliary fuel system because as you up the boost your in-tank pump will start to drop pressure.

The 1LE already has the ZL1 in-tank pump.

Yes. I know. The ZL1 in tank pump gets overrun and you will either want to add a voltage booster or an auxiliary fuel system. Probably depends on your HP goals.

To add more color, with e85 we saw the zl1 in-tank pump dropping pressure at 8psi. Once we installed the BAP, the low side stays rock solid with e85 and 12 psi (760whp). In fact, I expect that we can run up to about 850whp with the zl1+BAP pretty easily (will be about 3-4% higher on manual).

With e85 (really e70), we are pretty close to the injector pulse width limitation on 12psi (no alky or race fuel). I suspect with race fuel we could easily run to 830-850whp. As we start upping the boost, however, we could start seeing heat issues and need to add alky...I am not quite there yet so will defer to others who know for sure. I would recommend calling Ted and just talking through the options. He has taken the time with me to make sure I had everything and even special calls when I was on the dyno to tweak in real time.

Once again this just my two cents and it's worth exactly what you've paid me for this advice, but water wetter is basically like snake oil, especially if you're going to run coolant instead of straight water. The ASTM corrosion standards that they meet are also significantly less than what would typically be required of engine coolant. If Whipple calls it out in their instructions, that certainly is a head scratcher.
