1le owners getting the shaft?
what happens IF gm releases the ls7 powered car next year that is said to be all but certian? the car will for sure be a z-28 and have all the same goodies as the zl1, which really screws current 1le owners..
thoughts? |

There will always be something better
Like when 2012 ZL1's had the old radio and 2013's got MyLink/Nav.

Nothing is for certain. If an LS7 Camaro is built I expect it to be priced very close to the ZL1. Most 1LE owners shouldn't worry unless the only reason they bought one was to have a NA V-8. I would like an LS7 but probably won't be able to afford one. The 1LE is awesome in it's own way. The only thing I would add for 2014 is an option for the ZL1 brakes.

What are you going to do? Wait forever because something new is definitely going to be introduced next week/month/year?
So far, the 1LE has not disappointed. |

Welcome to the world of "we are going to keep making the 5th gen Camaro better every chance we get" I kinda like it here even though I took an early one on the chin by getting a SGM special edition in 2010. I didn't want to chance getting shut out of the color for a chance at an SS.

it's not gonna bother me...love my car anyway. they've made changes every year. i'm happy with what i got, and probably won't be able to afford an LS7 model anyway.

IF.....They build it and it is a Z28. The mark-ups will be crazy and the lines will be long to get one. I really don't want to take the chance on it. I mean how much better can it be than the 1LE? Its not gonna out perform the ZL1 so its gotta fall in the middle of the two somewhere , right? Don't get me wrong the ZL1 is a monster but its not worlds away from the 1LE......Just can't see hoping and worrying over that isn't for certain to be produced and if it is , it won't be that much better than what we have.

If you are upset because a possible Z/28 would be a great performer, why aren't you protesting the ZL1 which already exists?

Then they can sit next to the 2010 Mustang GT owners!
Really though it's not like you're getting a bad car. Sure the 1LE or even the 2012 is slightly better than my 2010 SS, but it's not like you're paying the same price if it did happen. Those cars will cost more and will be sold with a huge premium if they do happen and they will most likely be out performed in a year or two by a 6th gen.

Reminds me of how bmw does things. Release a "competition package" before the next best thing to keep the sales of the previous generation.

If the LS7 car is a reality and in the 40's I would jump on it, because it's always what I wanted. I don't think the 1LE guys are getting shafted, because it's an awesome package added to the SS. It's all about price points, you can almost always get your current car up to the performance level of the next step up for less than the extra cost, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I had a choice, either buying a 2013 2SS/RS 1LE or wait for the LS7 Camaro. I choose the 1LE. For me all the Camaro was missing was the mylink/nav/touch screen, now it has it. The 1LE package was a bonus. I've owned the car for 2 days, and I don't regret it one bit.
I wouldn't say we are getting the shaft, have you seen the recent track #'s from VIR? I say, we set the the baseline for the LS7. If it wasn't for us 1LE owners, you wouldn't be who you are today. You can even say we paved the way... |
