The silicone waterproofing spray works great to help keep it clean.

I have seen my neighbors pop the hood and were spraying their engine down with a garden hose. I pooped a brick right there.

BE CAREFUL USING CLEANING AGENTS AS THEY CAN CAUSE cORROSION IN ELECTRICAL PLUGS AND CONNECTIONS.

I have seen this happen to vehicles before. your best to use soap and water. use dawn for cutting grease and if you have really greasy stuff use wd40 then come back with dawn to clean it off but for the most part just use car wash soap and i highly recommend using a blower to dry the engine bay then come back with a silicone spray over wire harneses

Simple green or Adams All purpose cleaner. If we had bad weather and I had to drive it in the rain than I use the engine foamy cleaner (1-2 cans). Run the hose lightly for rinse. Hand dry what I can and if its a show day spray on lightly some engine shine.

I avoid the silicone spray cleaners as alot of the rubber hoses look like crap after drying.

I figure we'll do some illegal street racing and bet five large every single time, pretty soon we'll all be rollin large enough to buy t-tops. We can even laugh at the V12 Lambos who won't race us because they know how much they suck. Also I figure that each of us can find a local grease monkey who will black matte the entire car for a princely sum of $500 dollars. Maybe the black matte can be accented by some awesome purple thunder hockey sticks because GM missed the boat on that one. Yeah....that's the ticket.

Twice a year I have a marvelous professional detailer steam clean and polish the engine bay, costs me 40 bucks. Worth every penny.
