Without cats: you will be with connection pipes, which already come with it

With cats: you will need another connection pipe/HFC, but search the thread here to find out which part it is exactly. I can't remember on the top of my head, I think its something from texas speed

I know I am WAY behind on this lol. But, I was wondering if any of you guys could help me figure out whether or not I need the O2 sensor option added & which connection I need for this to connect to my cats. (Unfortunately I live in CA & need cats to pass smog)

If you live In CA, then you can't legally install LY headers period. You're ONLY option is a quality shorty header with a set of high flows or off road cat pipes that you can swap out come inspection time. That's why I will never live in that God forbidden state. Amazing how some of the best speed shops in the country are also located in the most anti car performance state too.

As a person in California, I can confirm that this state is uniquely challenging for car people. Emission places do visual inspections here, so even cars that would actually pass a sniff test won’t pass a visual.

question: is it possible to use a 02 Sim instead of tuning out the 02's?

I lived in San Diego from 1980 to 1984. I had a 1969 cougar xr7. I cammed it, long tube hooker headers, and cherry bombs bolt right to the headers. I never bothered registering it. I only got pulled over once. I still never paid the fines to this day

I know this has been about a year since you posted, but are these the band clamps you used?

Currently having the exhaust leak issue as well. Thanks in advance!

Hey Guys, just doing a quick update. Since I'm very impatient and got really tired of the bad exhaust leak, I went ahead and removed the bolts from the clamps that came with the catless midepipes and noticed these bolts are POS since the threads got screwed (get it) from trying to torque them down. I went to Home Depot and bought two 3/8" by 2 1/2" bolts, lock washers, and the corresponding nuts to go in place of the supplied ones. I spent no more than $2 on the bolts, nuts, and washers, and they seemed to have done the trick. My only concern now is, my exhaust ticks right around the header area pretty significantly. A buddy of mine told me that happens with these motors with a header install. Is this true or could I have a possible leak at the head? I re-used the factory gaskets, and made sure to install them how they were removed, the car has 51k miles on it. Should I just buy new GM gaskets? Thanks in advance gents!

Very normal to hear that ticking noise when putting on headers

My luck with installing parts hasn't been too good, so I was kind of worried it might be another problem, but thanks!
